    **grunt**

hey hey, how are my wonderful (neglected) friends out there in Cyberspace?!? Donna... - I'm so sorry, (everyone else too... but Donna is the one who came most often and reprimanded me... as such) I know, I have been terrible... **hangs head** I'm sorry guys, I have been considering deleting my space cos of the neglect... I have found facebook which keeps me in touch with most of my mates and doesn't require a blog.... unless you don't mind delayed updates, say once a month or maybe every two months? **hanging head turns bright red**

I don't have Internet at home, I'm FRANTIC at work, have band practice on the weekends and on Monday nights, have college on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, have an assignment to do after hours and have to find time for a social life (which really is the most important!) I have also appointed myself as the band manager for my band... so as you can see I'm just a leedle busy!

One of the things I have finally done is set up a myspace for the band, have a look and listen if you want too it's: www.myspace.com/nakedflamedemos I have a pic or two, the songs for our demo and a small write up on us, also I have sent our demo into a radio station here that plays unsigned artists, so I am hoping to hear from them soon (I swear, if I was even remotely religious, I would pray, hehe)

So.. News - well, until about a week ago I was living with my parents again as my flat has been getting the bathrooms redone and the kitchen tiled. TG i had somewhere to stay - the dust... just thinking about it I could sob into my tiny hands. It aged my flat by a good 20 years or so, and despite all the wiping and vacuuming and general being anal about it all - there is still dust... it haunts me and stuffs up my sinuses. it likes to toy with me... wipe down the dining room table - wipe down the coffee table, turn around and the dining table is covered all over again, already. I think my flat hates me. tee hee. OK so the reason for the redo... well the flat I'm in is about 1 million years old. The bathrooms (one with a bath and basin, the other with just a toilet? yeah - you gotta wonder who did the architecture) so basically they ripped the repugnant green and yellow tiles out, which was an easy task in my eyes considering the bastard tiles were so embarrassed with the way they looked that they were throwing themselves off my walls. We pulled out the old bath (which was made from cast iron or something so that the water would go in scalding hot, hit the sides of the bath and instantly turn cold!) and the basin which was almost part of a his and hers with the bath. The floor - was a wonderful, fashionable (NOT!!) linoleum brown and yellow - which would be great if I was incontinent - and never had people over, but that's not the case. On either account. That wonderful linoleum was also in the kitchen and toilet areas so all three sections got tiled, a basin added to the toilet, and a paint job to top them all off - man I'm so chuffed. It's a natural stone looking tile, and there is the decorative border around the top, new bath, a shower etc. Now if only I had any water pressure. There's the next step - I have to get a geyser put in cos the low pressure boiler that is for the whole complex does not like me either. so my hot water is a more like a constant piece of dog drool when being run at full blast. it bites.

********* Took a break in writing this (a two week break...)*********

And now - 2 weeks later I carry on with this update! haha - damn, its been mad! ok - so, since I last wrote, the band has had its first gig and we got an awesome write up on it from one of my mates who was there to see us!

We played at Roxys Rhythm Bar in Melville, which is student capital here in JHB. There were three bands to be playing on the night, Ourselves, a band called Three sugars please and Paranoid Neglect. The Third band (Paranoid Neglect) was supposed to be up first, but apparently they had somewhere to be and had to go first. Generally I wouldn't mind this, I mean hell its not like we care about the order of the bands, or the fact that they were the heaviest band out of the three of us, but what really really grated me, was that it took them 2 HOURS to do their sound check. Everyone knows, the sound in Roxys is SH*T!!! it just is, and not even a three day sound check could solve it, the audience is normally so pissed that we really shouldn't let it worry us! and we didn't, once the first band had done its thing (and admittedly, they weren't bad, had a few good riffs and the HUGE spiked Mohawk was amusing to watch as it cast shadows on the walls) we finally got up there, we were set up and had done sound check in all of 20 minutes and were ready to rock. Keep in mind that at this point it was 10:45 on a Tuesday night, so no, the place was not pumping. We did our thing, and it made me realise just how much I have missed the stage and gigging, damn, what a blast. The band being the self critical people they are went on and on that it was shit and blah blah blah, our mates, however, disagreed -  and maybe it is because they are our mates, while they all said the sound was shit, they all agreed that we did damn well! Personally, I can't wait to do it again. :) (wish I knew when again was!) I have loaded a few pics into the gallery from the gig, we had a very cool photographer there, and he made me look great! I love him, hehehe!

That aside, my stuff should FINALLY be coming back from they UK within the next week - I will have clothes again - trust me, that's HUGE! :) I'm seeing clients on a daily basis and have one set of formal trousers, and no work skirts, I also am getting pretty sick of my limited wardrobe, and cannot wait to have everything back! Dad is in the UK and bringing me perfume (happiness is) yeah... I'm not sure there is too much more to tell!

OK - I hate to love ya and leave ya so soon, will try write again in a month ~ hehehe! and yeah - love to you all!
