    Homework

None of us likes it, but sometimes you just have to do it! I mean I decided to start the body for life program, so I can't complain that I have to do a menu every night for the following day, and a workout program every night for the following day's training :) I know in the long run (like another 12 weeks) will be awesome and hell, half way through I will probably not be doing the menus or the exercise stuff as I will know what I have to do and already will have formed my habits. It's always difficult to change habits and your way of doing things :)

I only started the program this week - probably a bad week to start it on considering that I did a 15km walk on Sunday and I was so sore I couldn’t go to kick boxing yesterday, and in the early hours of this morning I woke up coughing out a lung (the neighbour must have thought someone was slaughtering a Rottweiler) and couldn't stop for ages - so I can't gym today as apparently people don't appreciate little bits of lung on communal weights and stuff - people are so selfish.

I started singing again, back to the covers and backtracks, feels like I have done the whole 4 steps forward and 23 back thing, but the folks are happy, and after singing at my dads birthday 2 weeks ago I was asked to sing again this past weekend and at someone's sons wedding on the 16th of August. This amuses me, the poor kid who is getting married has never heard me sing, I don't think he will even like the music as its old people stuff and here his folks are - organising his wedding entertainment. I wish my guitar lessons were going so well so that I could start gigs without the backtracks, but ya know how it is... babysteps!

Dads’ birthday was great, it was the big 60 and as opposed to a huge piss up party where we would have to clean up afterwards, the folks decided on a cooking afternoon. Basically there is a lady who hosts cooking afternoons in her house; she has it kitted out for anything up to 30 people all cooking at the same time! :) we had a Moroccan theme, which was divine - apparently, I had to sing for my supper as such. When everyone was reaping their hard earned rewards - I got up and did a set of songs for my dad! It went down really well, and they weren’t even drunk!! How awesome is that!?

Moms birthday then cropped up - we were going to go out for dinner and then head to my favourite dessert place in the world (which just thinking about, makes me drool, they do a pudding so divine that when it reaches your table you really don't want to eat it, because it is just too exquisite! then when you try it, you just can't stop, not if your life depended on it and no - it doesn’t matter if you just came from a 46 000 course meal and believe you can't eat anything more - you WILL finish the dessert. dammit.)

Mom changed her mind and instead we all went to the folks place, and I cooked up a spaghetti bolognaise! My sister brought the dessert - a homemade carrot cake - which one of her friends made, and it was also to die for. (You know, talking about these foods is NOT helping me get my head round this 12 week program I'm on.)

Right - now back to work. Again.
